By 1964, Southern American writer Flannery O’Connor was nearing the end of her battle with lupus, the disease that had taken the life of her father more than two decades before. In one of her final letters, she wrote, “You have to cherish the world at the same time you struggle to endure it.” O’Connor’s writings do exactly this … cherish the world in all its beauty and humor, with an eye that looks unflinchingly at the pain and suffering which our broken world endures.

Beginning this October, join Instructor of Literature, Dr. Abigail Smith, as she leads a 6-week course of study through the writings of Flannery O’Connor.
